Kathy Kelly, Voices for Creative Nonviolence, interviewed by Dennis Bernstein, discusses the soaring infant mortality statistics and appalling hardships experienced by Iraqi refugees. A recent UNICEF report estimates two million children in Iraq "are paying far too high a price", and continue to face threats including poor nutrition, disease and interrupted education. As the US military drops 40,000-ton bombs on Iraqi civilian neighborhoods and the lives of Iraqis are destroyed, an increasing majority clearly wants the occupation to end, and hatred of the US grows.
