Today on Flashpoints, we continue our coverage of Egypt with reports of mass killings by the Egyptian military in the streets of the capital, while the Egyptian government is acknowledging more than 278 people have been killed, the Muslim Brotherhood has claimed that more than 2,000 have died. Information has also surfaced of US funding of opposition groups to the constitutional government of Mohammed Morsi through institutions like the United States Agency for International Development and the International Republican Institute. Next, we make the connection between the stop-and-frisk policy of the New York City Police Department, racial profiling, and the targeting of minority youth. Finally, Flashpoints features our regular report of the Electronic Intifada with Norah Barrows-Friedman.
