Today on Flashpoints, we look at the case of a 67 year-old Palestinian woman being prosecuted by the Obama administration for what her attorney, Micheal Deutsch says is part of a political persecution program in the United States. Then we talk with activist David Cobb of the Movement to Amend about ongoing efforts to overturn a United States Supreme Court decision that granted the rights of an individual to corporations, namely the Citizens United ruling. After that we’re joined by Gary Ruskin of the Center for Corporate Policy and take a look at a recent report he co-authored that details how corporations are spying on non-profits and whistle blowers. We follow that story with a discussion with Daphne Wysham of the Genuine Progress Project and their efforts to redefine how we look at the quality of life and prosperity in the world. Finally, journalist Jessica Bruder discusses her recent article in Harper’s magazine focusing on an ever growing population of retired nomads roaming across the country in Recreational Vehicles in search of subsistence wages and seasonal work.
