Today on Flashpoints: We devote the first half of the show to Haiti and the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew. The category 4 strom pummeled the island nation with at least 5 people killed. It also forced the cancellation of the upcoming elections scheduled for this Sunday, amid growing fears the Obama administration may militarize relief efforts there, as they did following the January 2010 earthquake with the announcement of the deployment of an aircraft carrier and 300 US marines. Then, we’ll feature a special report by Flashpoints senior producer, Miguel Gavilan Molina, with an extended portrait of Pablo Alvarado, called the Cesar Chavez of day laborers, and an accomplished musician who just released his first CD.
