Today on flashpoints we’ll speak with the leader of the Southern California Immigration Coalition and anti-war activist Carlos Montes, who was arrested in a 5am SWAT team raid on May 17th. Also joining us is Arturo Rodriguez to talk about the Fair Treatment for Farmworkers Act that has been sitting on governor Jerry Brown’s desk awaiting his signature. We’ll also take a look at the federal government’s Secure Communites program or S-COMM where local law enforcement appears to benefit by what closely resembles a bounty on the heads of illegal immigrants. Finally we go back to Mexico to take another look at the Drug War that has escalated into wholesale slaughter. I am here with Miguel Gavilan Molina, Flashpoints roving producer and reporter, Francisco Herrera, my co-host on Friday’s, and Miguel Perez with flashpoints en Español, stay tuned.
